Welcome to Sensibly. These Terms of Service govern your use of our website and the booking of our home maintenance services. By accessing our platform, creating an account, or hiring a tradesperson through Sensibly, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
Sensibly is a platform that connects homeowners with independent, vetted contractors for residential maintenance and repair. Our services include, but are not limited to, plumbing, electrical work, HVAC services, and general handyman tasks.
While we strive to ensure accuracy, the specific scope of work, materials, and pricing are determined by the individual tradesperson and the details provided in your booking request. Sensibly acts as an intermediary to facilitate the transaction and communication, but we do not perform the physical work ourselves.
To ensure the best experience for all homeowners and tradespeople, we operate on the following schedule:
A 20% deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your appointment. The remaining balance is due upon completion of the work, unless otherwise specified in the quote.
Refunds: Refunds are processed at the discretion of the tradesperson and Sensibly management. If a job is cancelled by the homeowner due to a change of heart, a refund of the deposit may be issued minus a processing fee. If a tradesperson fails to show up or completes work that is unsatisfactory, a full refund of the deposit and the final payment will be processed immediately.
We stand behind the quality of our tradespeople. All labor performed by Sensibly-verified contractors is covered by our 90-day workmanship guarantee. This means that if a repair fails due to faulty workmanship within 90 days of the completion date, the tradesperson will return to fix it at no additional cost to you.
This guarantee does not cover damage caused by normal wear and tear, misuse, or failure to follow the manufacturer's instructions for specific products (e.g., water heaters, HVAC units).
Sensibly is not liable for any injuries, damages, or losses that occur during the performance of services by the independent contractors. You agree to hold Sensibly harmless from any claims arising out of your use of the platform or the work performed by the contractors.
Furthermore, Sensibly is not responsible for the products purchased by you for the job (e.g., new fixtures, materials). You are responsible for selecting and approving these items before the work begins.
In the event of a dispute regarding a service, booking, or payment, we encourage you to contact our support team immediately at support@sensibly.com. We will mediate the issue to reach a fair resolution.
If a resolution cannot be reached through mediation, the dispute may be subject to binding arbitration in accordance with the laws of the state where you reside. You waive any right to a trial by jury.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or by posting an update on our website. Your continued use of the platform after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
